University engagement
One World Youth Project (OWYP) is a unique 3-semester global leadership and professional development opportunity for university students. During the first semester, OWYP engages university student participants in three training periods to prepare them as leaders in their community. Read more about the OWYP trainings here.
Over the next two semesters, students visit secondary school classrooms and lead once-a-week lessons to facilitate active partnership with a classroom in another part of the world. University students are linked directly to other participating university students from around the world.

“One World Youth Project provided our university students with a unique global leadership, management and cultural competency skill set. The program offered students an opportunity to apply their skills and tenacity in the local community, advancing their leadership skills as well as furthering Georgetown University’s commitment to community engagement. Adding a global dimension to Georgetown University’s existing service-learning programs, One World Youth Project offers an innovative international experience for our students.” – Dan Porterfield, Ph.D, Former Senior Vice President for Strategic Development at Georgetown University, President of Franklin & Marshall College
